The idea being they'll put the best (worst?) of them in their game. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is a survival horror video game, developed by The Chinese Room and published by Frictional Games. They've asked for WAVs, OGGs or MP3s of people's most frightening bloodcurdlers to be emailed to Which is just plain weird, and I fear for the poor bastard whose job it will be to listen to that racket. Rather strangely, the developers are also after your screams. It's weird, cos I figured a machine for pigs would be some sort of giant meat grinder for mincing up humans. And as the trailer shows, the best place to be in such a time is hiding in a hole with the lights off. The secret behind Frictional's games (and they're playing producer role here, to ensure all is good and proper) is to make you as, well, you - a person who isn't superhuman, and gets a bit scared when really, really scary things are happening. But we need wait no longer, as the fast approach of All Saints Day means spooky footage is of the highest order, and you can see the new trailer below.

TDM mapping has been extremely rewarding and as I already said, I honestly believe I would have given up on computer games by now if not for TDM mapping. It's been too long since we saw some moving pictures of the Amnesia sequel, A Machine For Pigs, this time developed by the Dear Esther team, thechineseroom. I think about how I would design the level, how i would write the story, how I would design the puzzles instead of just alowwing myself to be immersed without questioning every single detail. I also think it's because I've sepnt the last few years makings FMs for TDM, I now play games in the mindset of a game designer and not a gamer. Creating something new is never mindless and it activates my brain most wonderfully. Playing the dumbed-down and simplified games the industry has to offer nowadays can often be somehow mindless: repetitiveness, no challenge, no satisfaction of winning, because the game was designed to be easy. It is somehow so much more fun and rewarding to CREATE rather than CONSUME. But ultimately, when all the day's obligations have been passed and completed. I have similar thoughts, although I *DO* enjoy playing occasionally and there are some really good games out there. I'm not sure if I should continue playing or just to stop, because fear here seems not existing. I did that in this second game but it seems in vain. I remember in the first game I learn a precious lesson. It could work if they could find a way to do it right. On other hand I think I understand why insanity here doesn't work.

I wasn't expecting to be Daniel's story again, but with the same fear that did in the first game. I started playing yesterday and didn't finish yet too and like yourself Baal I must say you are right. It's still a good game but it doesn't reach its predecessor." The only challenge is to force yourself to move on through the really scary parts but that doesn't happen to often. It's more linear, the puzzles are easy, you don't have an inventory anymore and you don't need to worry about running out of oil for your lamp or losing your sanity in the darkness. Since you're relatively relaxed for a good part of the time it becomes apparent that Amnesia is a very simple game and it is even more simplified here. These moments of terror still exist but it's mostly just unnerving. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs by Jessica Curry, released 10 September 2013 1. That game had you on edge almost all of the time. "Having played (not finished) it for two nights I have to say it's not as good rsp.
